Indonesia Days
Matari/BBDO in Indonesia was my first company to work outside the Philippines. It was a great experience and fun as well considering that I was with 7 Filipino friends to work in the same company.
I was lucky to have a great team, we went up-country for picnic or always eat out. Indonesia's Independence Day celebration was fun, the whole country was wearing red and white -- I wore red rubber shoes for the first time.
It was surprising that I accidentally bumped Vita, my former Account Director in Singapore while shopping -- ten years after and she remembered me and excitedly called me when she saw me walking inside the fastfood.
First time in my life to spend Christmas outside the Philippines, my sister Anne visited me in Indonesia and we decided to go to Borobudur-- an hour flight from Jakarta. The place is really amazing. The locals said that it used to be a mountain and was discovered by farmers. All estopa were put together without any use of cement.
Yogyakarta is another city in Indonesia that you will enjoy to visit if you love batik, paintings, wood carving, etc.
Solo, Indonesia is the place where the wife of Ex-President Suharto was born, this is another nice and quiet province in Indonesia. I was informed that one restaurant is so famous with their steak and true enough when we tried it.
Prambanan is another province with beautiful temple and we watched the traditional Indonesian Folk Dance in an open air stadium inside the compound.
A totally different kind of temple where the images curved in the stones were all nude and the reason why they call it "Erotic Temple." This place was a little over an hour drive from Solo and we were accompanied by my former AE Runi.
Forbidden Beach in Solo Indonesia. We were told that one couple committed suicide in this beach and after that a lot of people die everytime they go swimming, from then on the government prohibited the people from swimming. A lot of Indonesians and tourists go there for sight seeing, horse-back riding, etc.
